Managing Your Subscription

This guide walks you through common subscription management tasks, including viewing billing information, updating payment methods, and handling cancellation.

Accessing Billing Settings

To access your subscription and billing settings:

  1. Log in to your Frontend Mentor account
  2. Click your profile avatar in the top navigation
  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu
  4. Click the Billing tab in the settings sidebar

The billing page displays your current plan, next billing date, and payment method on file.

Viewing Payment History and Invoices

To view your payment history:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
  2. Scroll to the Payment History section
  3. View a list of all past charges with dates and amounts

To download an invoice:

  1. Find the payment in your history
  2. Click the Download Invoice button next to that payment
  3. The invoice downloads as a PDF

Invoices include all details needed for expense reports or tax records.

Updating Your Payment Method

To change the card used for subscription payments:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
  2. Find the Payment Method section
  3. Click Update Payment Method
  4. Enter your new card details
  5. Click Save to confirm the change

Your new payment method will be used for all future charges. The previous card is removed from your account.

Canceling Your Subscription

To cancel your Pro subscription:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Cancel Subscription
  3. Confirm your cancellation when prompted

After canceling:

  • You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period
  • After that period ends, your account reverts to the free tier

Your subscription auto-renews by default. You'll receive an email reminder a few days before renewal, so you have time to cancel if needed.

What Happens After Cancellation

When your Pro subscription ends:

  • All private solutions become public
  • Solution screenshots revert to 5 per month
  • Premium challenges become inaccessible (you keep solutions already submitted)
  • Figma design file downloads are no longer available
  • Solution reports revert to standard automated analysis (no AI enhancement)
  • If you had a yearly subscription, your design and premium credits reset to zero
  • If you had a monthly subscription, unused credits remain on your account until you use them
  • You retain access to all free features

Your account and all submitted solutions remain intact. Only Pro-specific features become unavailable.

Refund Policy

A "fair use" refund policy applies within 14 days of starting your first subscription. If you download one or two premium assets (design files, premium challenges) and decide it's not for you, a refund will be processed. If you've downloaded three or more premium assets, the refund may be declined. To request a refund, email [email protected] within 14 days.

Reactivating After Cancellation

If you canceled and want to resubscribe:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Reactivate Subscription or Subscribe to Pro
  3. Choose your plan (monthly or yearly)
  4. Enter payment details if needed
  5. Confirm your subscription

Pro features activate immediately after resubscribing. If you had private solutions before, you can mark them private again after reactivating.

Getting Your Employer to Pay

Many employers cover professional development expenses like Frontend Mentor Pro.

Updating invoice details

  1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
  2. Click Edit Billing Details
  3. Add your company name, address, and any required tax ID or VAT number
  4. Save the changes

Future invoices will include your company details. You can also download past invoices and contact support to have them reissued with company information.

Making the case to your employer

When requesting reimbursement, emphasize that Frontend Mentor Pro:

  • Provides hands-on practice with professional design-to-code workflows
  • Includes AI-enhanced reports that improve code quality
  • Builds portfolio projects demonstrating real skills
  • Teaches Figma collaboration skills used in development teams

Many companies have learning and development budgets specifically for resources like this.

Teams platform

If your employer wants to manage subscriptions for multiple developers, they can create a team account on the Teams platform. From there, a manager can upgrade individual accounts and oversee professional development for the whole team in one place.

Can I Buy a Subscription as a Gift?

There's no automated process for gift subscriptions yet. Email [email protected] and the team will help you set one up.
