  You forgot to give the body a background-color.

  Give the main a fixed max-width value for a responsive content. max-width:600px

  Increase the maximum screen size of the media query.

  Use relative units like rem or em as unit for the padding, margin and width values, instead of using px which is an absolute unit. For more on CSS units Click here
