Solution retrospective

What are you most proud of, and what would you do differently next time?

I'm really proud of how I set everything up using Visual Studio Code and GitHub. I found it fun and educational to get hands-on with the tools, and Frontend Mentor has honestly given me the confidence to take my first real steps toward my dream of becoming a front-end designer — and eventually a full-stack developer.

Next time, I think I’d like to dive a bit deeper into the tools themselves before jumping in. I was just so excited to start creating that I kind of learned things along the way. I'm not sure if that's the best learning method, but it worked for me in this case!

What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?

At first, I had literally no idea what Git or GitHub were, so I had to figure out how those tools work and how to keep track of my code. Thankfully, Coder Coder explained everything so clearly — she was honestly my hero during this part! (This video really helped me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Dd7KRpKeaE)

I was already somewhat familiar with code editors and had built a few HTML and CSS websites in the past. But one challenge was that HTML and CSS have improved a lot since around 2017 — which was the last time I coded during an internship, before I switched to working as a designer.

Another challenge was getting used to things like flex-direction and the overall flex/grid system. I’d love to learn more about rem units, scalability, and how to make layouts more responsive — those are still a bit new to me.

What specific areas of your project would you like help with?

I'd love some guidance on how to publish my project for free. I'm familiar with uploading websites via an FTP client, but I'm not sure how to do that using GitHub. Even though GitHub creates a unique repository link for me, it still says I'm not allowed to use it — so I'm a bit confused about how to actually host or share my project properly from there.

I’d also really appreciate any tips on modern HTML and CSS practices. I learned most of my coding back in 2017, so I’m still catching up with newer concepts like REM units and more up-to-date layout techniques like Flexbox and CSS Grid. Time to refresh and level up my skills!

And im also not sure why the position of the qr code has changed. If I upload this on Vercel it does do that. It doenst do this on my browser chrome and firefox
