Interactive Rating Component using CSS Flexbox and base JavaScript

A solution to the Interactive rating component challenge

Solution retrospective

The part that took me the longest was getting the JavaScript to behave the way I wanted it to. I also had to go back and redesign the buttons to be radio buttons and use the labels to click while hiding the actual radio input. My question is, is there any way you personally approach new projects to get an idea of the best elements and features to use?
