Solution retrospective

This was my first brush with dates in javascript, but this article was a lifesaver. My biggest struggles were:

Dealing with birthdays in the current month
Leap year math

To anyone else who has built this one: what were your struggles? is your solution similar to mine?

And to more experienced developers: do you see any glaring opportunities for optimization?
