Ping coming soon JS Client-side validation

Solution retrospective
I'm proud of expanding on my learning from the last challenge using HTML forms and moving into client-side validation with JS. This meant I could apply some of my learning and develop it here. I learnt a lot about methods in JS that work to move through the process of validation in forms such as checking if a field is empty, formatted correctly etc. I made a special effort to understand each line contained in my code block to achieve the effect I wanted. There's a finicky depth to JS that I really want to create a fluid relationship with - as much as possible.
What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?Handling a Javascript challenge so far is like being handed a tangled ball of string and being asked to untangle it. It takes time, patience, it's not necessarily linear and sometimes it feels like you're not making progress. One step reveals three others. I need to take breaks and face the problem with a fresh mind.
What specific areas of your project would you like help with?I cannot for the life of me figure out how to, in the desktop version, make the error message appear underneath the input field and submit button. I've tried using flex and grid and neither are cooperating. I don't know if I've done something with specificity/the cascade that I can't figure out but it's so annoying and I had to let it go. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
More generally, feedback on my Sass and particularly, my Javascript would be helpful.
