Solution retrospective
I wasn't able to access developer mode in Figma as it costs money, but it would have made things easier, so I'd like to make use of it for future projects, especially as they get more complex. The design files did help with some effects which I probably would have missed by looking at an image alone, such as the font shadow.
What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?Figuring out a way to navigate all the starting materials was the only real challenge. I wasn't sure what kind of workflow to settle into. I may use a BEM convention for my next project but I'm not sure if it's something that is still used today? I'm also not sure about things like accessibility, and better html tags (rather than using a div for everything), but I suppose it will come with practice.
What specific areas of your project would you like help with?I'm not sure if my HTML is convoluted - perhaps it could be simpler and I could use fewer elements? Am I using too many wrappers?
Can I organise my CSS better? Do people still use pre-processors like SASS much today? Is nesting in CSS equivalent to nesting in SASS? Is it okay to use BEM or do people not use it much anymore? Should I have used relative units instead of pixels? Should I use variables for common spacing sizes? I did notice some spacing measurements in the Figma file but I wasn't sure where to use them.
