Solution retrospective
I went mobile first on this one, which is quite fun and challenging at the same time. Getting more familiar with rem & em and using them accordingly. Last but not least, still have a lot to learn, but I'm quite proud of how I've improved at building responsive code compared to the previous ones I did. On the next project, I will start with mobile first and gradually transition to desktop (I kinda did mobile - tablet - desktop, which makes things super messy)
What challenges did you encounter, and how did you overcome them?Planning a visual transition & building the code to support the responsiveness was quite a fun challenge, as there were different parts with different types of layouts that changed when viewed on different screens. I did a few trials on what might be possible, and looks like it makes sense as a transition. So basically, tested the code, debugged, and edited - all that on repeat until it looked seamless enough.
What specific areas of your project would you like help with?I'm looking to improve the responsive side. I know in theory we need to make sure elements or components scale with the screen size. To tackle that, I end up writing lots of manual breakpoints. Are there any practical tips or hacks perhaps (on typography, spacing, or layouts, etc) so I don't have to rely on tons of media queries? Thanks 🙌
