Wall of Fame Explained

The Wall of Fame is Frontend Mentor's leaderboard system that showcases the most helpful and active community contributors. It is a place to celebrate members who go above and beyond in supporting fellow developers on their coding journey.

Leaderboard time periods

The Wall of Fame features four separate leaderboards, each tracking a different time period:

Weekly leaderboard

Shows the top contributors for the current week. This resets every week, giving everyone a fresh opportunity to climb the rankings.

Monthly leaderboard

Displays the highest scorers for the current month. This recognizes members who maintain consistent helpfulness over a longer period.

Yearly leaderboard

Tracks contributions throughout the entire year. Appearing here demonstrates sustained dedication to the community.

All-time leaderboard

The cumulative ranking of every point earned since joining Frontend Mentor. This represents the most comprehensive view of a member's total contribution to the community.

How rankings are calculated

Your position on each leaderboard is determined by your total points earned within that time period. Points come from:

  • Feedback marked as helpful by solution authors (+20 points each)
  • Submitting challenge solutions (points vary by difficulty)

Members with higher point totals rank higher on the leaderboard. In case of ties, the system may factor in additional criteria such as the total number of helpful feedback comments.

Benefits of being on the Wall of Fame

Recognition

Appearing on the Wall of Fame publicly acknowledges your contribution to the community. Other members can see your helpfulness at a glance.

Visibility

High-ranking members gain visibility across the platform. This can lead to more followers, more engagement on your own solutions, and a stronger presence in the community.

Badges

Top performers on weekly, monthly, and yearly leaderboards earn special badges that display on their profiles, providing lasting recognition of their achievements.

Airdrop raffle

As an additional thank you, we randomly select one free user from the Wall of Fame at the end of each week and month to receive a free credit:

  • Weekly raffle: 1 design credit
  • Monthly raffle: 1 premium credit

Only users without an active Pro subscription are eligible for the raffle. It's our way of giving back to active community members who help others.

Professional benefits

For those seeking employment, a presence on the Wall of Fame demonstrates to potential employers that you are collaborative, communicative, and invested in helping others succeed.

Tips for climbing the leaderboard

  1. Be consistent - Regular contributions matter more than occasional bursts of activity. Set aside time each day or week to provide feedback.
  2. Focus on quality - Thoughtful, detailed feedback is more likely to be marked as helpful than brief comments.
  3. Help newer members - Solutions from beginners often receive fewer comments. Your feedback can make a real difference and is likely to be appreciated.
  4. Share your expertise - If you have knowledge in specific areas like accessibility, performance, or CSS techniques, look for solutions where you can provide specialized guidance.
  5. Be encouraging - Constructive feedback delivered kindly is more likely to be well-received and marked as helpful.

Celebrating community contributors

The Wall of Fame exists to celebrate the generous members who make Frontend Mentor such a supportive learning environment. Whether you are aiming for the top spot or simply want to give back to the community, every bit of helpful feedback makes a difference.

Take time to recognize and appreciate the mentors who appear on these leaderboards. Their efforts help countless developers improve their skills and build confidence in their abilities.
