FAQ Accordion using JavaScript

I completed this project using HTML, CSS, and Vanilla JavaScript. While I was successfully able to build the accordion (I owe it to Google and Stackoverflow), The part where I am struggling is to hide the part of the image that goes beyond the card borders. I tried doing that with z-index but it just pushes the whole picture behind the card. I would like to know some practices to achieve this functionality.
