I went through and updated the styles and JS to achieve a cleaner solution to this problem.

Any feedback on the SASS and suggestions on a cleaner way to achieve this layout would be greatly appreciated.

I am having a small issue with landscape mobile view on iOS devices. There is some extra space on the left and right which also pushes the scrollbar in too far. This is only happening on mobile devices, not in the emulator in chrome dev tools. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
