Solution retrospective
The thing I found to be difficult was getting the background image to align just as in the supplied designs (both on mobile and desktop). For this reason I decided to leave it as it is because I could not get it aligned as it should.
If anyone can provide me with feedback on how to improve/fix this point, you're welcome.
