When I started this project, I had no idea that it was impossible to grow the accordion smoothly in css between height: 0 and height: auto. This is the part where I spent a lot of time finding a solution that I hadn't anticipated.
To challenge me, a parallax effect on the shadows. For the mobile version, the effect is triggered when scrolling. And for the desktop version, the effect is triggered when the accordion expands.

There's nothing like struggling with a challenge labeled "NEWBIE" to really knock you down a few pegs. π Front-end design is one of those things I've always assumed I know how to do because it comes easier than back-end work, but this first challenge showed me all the blindspots I had.
1.) Mobile-first responsive design. I spent longer than I should've deciding on breakpoints and then constantly had to adjust them. The spacing transitioning from a desktop to an iPad was especially tricky. If anyone has tips on how to choose/maintain a uniform set of breakpoints, I'd love to hear them!
2.) Svelte. I took this chance to learn a new technology: Svelte. And I loved it! It made it easy to separate and keep track of the different components, I didn't have to worry about BEM naming conventions, and the code looks cleaner IMO. However, I wasn't able to figure out how to get the validation on the form working for when a user tries to submit an empty email address field using Svelte logic. (So you'll notice that the error is the same even though it should change.)
3.) Form validation. This was an unexpected pain point towards the end. If anyone knows how to turn off the automatic form validation error messages that come up in chrome (and overlap the CSS I wrote), PLEASE let me know. I couldn't figure out how to make only one error message come up.
4.) Hiding form labels. To fit the design, I had to hide the form label for the email address input field while also making sure screen readers could see it. I found my solution on StackOverflow, but how do most of you do it?
Thank you!

This was my second time doing this challenge. I have redone it using React and Styled Components.
I am pretty happy with the profile card, but please, feel free to give me any tips to improve my code.
Also, the background SVG placements were hard for me and I have no idea how to make it work seamless for mobile and web.

I coded desktop first, using Sass and grid layout.
It was very challenging for me to keep the image fully covered inside of the div, and change the content's order for the responsive layouts. JS email validation part was very exciting to learn.
Any feedback & suggestion for improvement would be very much appreciated :)!!

Hey, everybody! π
This was an awesome challenge that I enjoyed and in which I learned a lot! I used Svelte.js for the first time and it was pretty amazing. Svelte's features made it a lot easier to create a todo app like this and it was a lot of fun to learn! π
I added some transitions to make the actions smoother and a Christmas theme π (because it's drawing near to that special time of year) and used local storage to store the state of the to-do list and the most recently used theme. π
There are a few quirks that I'm aware ofβthe order of the items in the to-do list isn't saved in local storage if they are changed via drag-and-drop and there is no transition for the "Clear Completed" action because of the way I passed data around in my Svelte files. I almost wish I could redo this challenge and do a few things differently (such as make my code less ugly), but... IDK. π
Feedback is welcome and appreciated (I really hope everything works okay)! π
Happy coding (and happy holidays, too π )! π

I had 2 problems:
Not proper adding the top border inside the both, it is not like the one on the design, I tried to use box-shadow also without success.
I tried to use GridCSS (ugly solution but wanted to give it a shot and learn by doing) and the middle column is streched more that the left/right columns for the cards on desktop.
Of course any other tips and suggestions will be welcome
